I
have this printer, and have used mine for two years. It is uses two cartridges,
one black and one with three colors.
The
good: Inexpensive, decent quality for most domestic printing needs.
The
bad: It prints slowly. You'll notice this with ink-heavy pages like photos. It
also requires ink replacements often.
The
ugly: With wear, the print heads get dirty. The software provides a way to auto-clean,
but it is needed more than with other printers. The colors do not mix well when
printed. Heavily printed pages have the same feel as does that same paper after
drawing all over with an ink marker.
If
you need to print off a letter in a basic font, you're set. If you need to desktop
publish a flyer for your home business, you need a printer with more meat, or
you should go to a digital print bureau.
When
looking for a printer, first see it in person, even if buying online is less expensive.
See the samples and watch how quickly it prints. Put two prints together and compare
resolution and color.
For
my home needs, this is fine, but for more complex projects, I use a print bureau
or copy place.
